Hi, Mrs. Costain here! This week I want to share with you
one of my family's favorite series of books, "Fancy Nancy" books. As
a reader, one of the great things about reading is that you can learn and
expand your vocabulary through books. In the "Fancy Nancy" books the
author is always using creative words that make the books much more
interesting. How does this connect to the personal narratives you are writing?
What does this do for the reader?
Our family is busy and on the go, as I'm sure many of you
are too. Sometimes it is hard to squeeze in reading every night for at least 15
minutes. One way we've gotten around that is by reading in the car. My girls
have a bin of books that we always keep in the car. This allows them to read on
our way to daycare, swimming lessons, or wherever we may be going. In this
picture, my daughter, Adelaide is listening to a "Fancy Nancy" book
on cd. This is another way to get your minutes in! She loves to be read to and that definitely counts as reading!
Read. Read. Read!!!
Be good. Be nice. Behave!
