Yesterday I asked how you felt on your first day of school. A few classes collected information, which we call data, and I have organized it into percents and fractions. To remind you, the question asked how you felt after school on the first day.
Student data
a. super excited and full of energy 46% (46/100)
b. super excited but super tired 23% (23/100)
c. normal 9% (9/100)
d. wishing for summer 24% (24/100)
Teacher data
b. super excited but super tired 100% (4/4)
Collecting data and organizing it is a really great math skill that we will work on later this year. Working with different types of graphs and comparing/contrasting is all part of a math skill called DATA ANALYSIS.
Can we make a connection between organizing data and organizing ourselves?
