Today for Book Talk Tuesday, Mrs. Laliberte is featuring  a Biography about her favorite singer. The book is called, Celine Dion: My Story, My Dream.

This Biography is the remarkable life story of Celine Dion.  She is a phenomenal singer and has impacted millions of people around the world (including me) with her music.  It's a story about her life, dedication to pursue a singing career and the challenges she faced. Celine is married to Rene Angelil. who is also her manager, and together they have three sons; Rene Charles, and twins Eddy and Nelson.  I have seen her show twice, once in Las Vegas and once in Minneapolis. I am a big fan!

Her music is influential in my life.  I always feel better when I listen to her music. Her lyrics and melodies changes my mood instantly to feeling happy and peaceful.  Think about music and how it impacts you? What kind of music do you like to listen to?  How does it make you feel?

Polar Plunge

March 6, 2015

G'day Risk Takers!
Yesterday we practiced our dismissal routine to get it back on track. The fourth grade teachers, and many others, noticed a HUGE difference in fourth graders around 3:00 yesterday. Way to go, 4th graders! You reflected on our recent actions, we chose to practice dismissal the right way, and we acted on that! That is a great example of the PYP Action Cycle!

One of our reading comprehension skills is making inferences.

CLUES + WHAT YOU KNOW = MAKE AN INFERENCE

Looking at the picture, can you make an inference as to which 4th Grade Teacher is doing the POLAR PLUNGE with Peace Jam today?

GOOD LUCK POLAR PLUNGERS! WAY TO BE RISK-TAKERS!

Dismissal

March 5, 2015

Hello PYP Students,
We need to make a connection between being principled students that have integrity at dismissal.

At dismissal time you are dismissed from your classroom. You are expected to walk to...
Mrs. McAlpine & Mrs. Laliberte's line if you go to Door 1 (first grade hallway).
Mrs. Larson's line if you go to Door 2 (near the office).
Mrs. Brown & Mrs. Applequist's line if you take a bus.
Mr. Frischmann's line if you go to Kids Choice.

When you are in line, you need to be patiently waiting in LINE BASICS. If you are going outside, you should be dressed for the weather

The teachers have been noticing our lines getting shorter and shorter everyday. We have not gotten any information from parents or the office of a change in our dismissal routine. At the end of the day, go where you are expected to go.
