Audience Etiquette

February 11, 2016

Hello compassionate learners,
Today many of us will be going to see the first or fifth grade grade concerts. They have been working hard for a long time on their songs, dances, and speaking parts. It is an exciting experience for the performers.

Before we go to the concerts, let's think about two things: audience etiquette and empathy. Respectful audience members are quiet and still (unless they are invited by the performers to participate), they are watching and listening, and they clap when appropriate.

Why is it important to connect empathy with audience etiquette. Imagine yourself on the risers getting ready to sing... staring out at hundreds of people... what would be going through your mind? What do you think the first and fifth graders will be thinking and feeling?

Enjoy the shows! And, get ready... ours is next month!
