Book Talk Tuesday comes to you from Pete Seeger and LaVar Burton!! Have you ever heard of The Reading Rainbow? This was a very popular show after school when your teachers were young students. LaVar Burton featured real children giving book reports of their favorite books followed by a reading of the book. I loved this show because it always gave me good ideas of what to read next.
For BTT this week, I simply searched, "Reading Rainbow" on You Tube and was surprised to see that it has its own channel! LaVar Burton has rekindled his show but has also added virtual field trips (which I will share with you soon!!!). This channel also has a lot of classic Reading Rainbow segments.
Here is the story ABIYOYO, written and read by Pete Seeger, a folk singer. He explains how and why he wrote the story, and then read/sings it to us! Enjoy!
